Beautiful Things

Awakening from a fifteen day comatose state, and, for me, at least, an additional two weeks of post-traumatic amnesia is truly a remarkable, once in a lifetime kind of experience, and I new soon after my release from the hospital in 2004 that I wanted to record those moments so as to never forget them.

The profound sense of disorientation was unreal, and I don't think I was quite able to capture that in this short memoir. Some day I'll go back through it and make small revisions.

However, seeing as this was written exactly nine months after sustaining a severe traumatic brain injury for an introductory English course at the University of Minnesota, I think I did a pretty good job of capturing as many of the small details as possible. I in fact hurried to transcribe my experience for that very reason -- details, feelings, and thoughts always dissipate with time, and I wanted to remember it all

Warning: the following memoir is highly esoteric, and takes place in December 2003.

Pendulum -- I'm Not Alone

As I often do, I was listening to my iPod touch tonight on shuffle when this song popped up. What a pleasant surprise!
